Halloween 2009

Somehow we managed to dodge the rain that was called for all week! The weather was a little chilly which was ok since the girls were able to layer plenty of warm clothes under their costumes.
Gavin the Goldfish was Elvis up until 2 hours before we headed out. An unfortunate incident with the glitter paint caused a last minute costume change. Thanks to some orange and yellow fleece, he became a goldfish. Lily couldn't decide between a princess or a bunny...Maiya was Cleopatra.

Tacoma Art Museum

We spent Thursday at the Museum of Art in Tacoma. Its a very small museum that doesn't take long to tour, yet we were there for HOURS. They have a really wonderful children's art studio...We couldn't get the girls to leave. I gave Maiya a little lesson in landscape painting (with a great view out of the huge windows). Lily painted, but most enjoyed creating a collage. Gavin also got into the painting action as you can see...

We went on a homeschool field trip to the zoo last week with a few of Maiya's friends. It was the 1st day of public school in the area, so we figured we'd have the zoo to ourselves. We were right. It was a very fun day! The highlight was probably the camel ride.

Farmer's Market

I thought I'd share a photo of my little stall at the farmer's market. We moved to a different location this year. My spot is along the walking path, with a huge field right behind me. I took the photo of Maiya jump roping from my stall.

The last few weeks were also filled with Brownie activities, zoo trips, and a few other fun outings. We also visited Maiya's violin teacher's new baby where Lily practiced baby snuggling.
